Miss Dayna
Teacher/Choreographer
Meet Miss Dayna!
Miss Dayna began dancing at just 2 years old, starting in a Tiny Tots ballet class at Barrie Dance Conservatory and later completing her competitive training at Kreative Dance Company. Over her 16 years of dance, she trained in a wide variety of styles including Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip Hop—but from a young age, her heart was captured by Musical Theatre.
Throughout her dance journey, Miss Dayna taught and choreographed in multiple styles, earning choreography awards along the way. Her love for the stage extended beyond dance, leading her to perform in over 20 musicals (including Willy Wonkaas Veruca and Cinderella in Cinderella), as well as 6 movies and TV shows (The Knight Before Christmas, Country Crush, and more). She also had the incredible opportunity to work with Disney in Orlando, FL, under the mentorship of performers such as Raven-Symoné and Miranda May.
In her first year of college, Miss Dayna was accepted into a prestigious Broadway Training School in New York City with a full scholarship. Although unable to attend due to COVID-19 border closures, she went on to graduate with a diploma in Mental Health and Addictions. Today, she works as a Mental Health and Addictions Counsellor with the Canadian Mental Health Association and is a passionate advocate for the arts as a powerful tool in supporting mental wellness.
Miss Dayna is thrilled to be joining The Official Dance Project this year and looks forward to sharing her love of dance, theatre, and performance with her students!
